PsiStar's committee is voted in by the members at the end of every accademic year in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held April 4th 2008. It is
required that there
are 50% plus 1 members to non-members and contracts are signed by the President and Treasurer as these are the only committee members that are held legally responsible for their actions. The remainder of the committee are bound only by their word to do what is expected of them although if their roles are not performed satisfactorily then they may be fired during a committee meeting. A new committee member must be voted in by a general meeting of the society.
The committee is thus set as follows for the academic year 2008/2009, as of August 1st.

Hello everybody, my name is Oliver James Hughes and I am
your president for PsiStar this year. I'm in my 2nd year of my Astro
Degree, I love my job in blockbuster (free rentals can burn a lot of time while I'm
meant to be studying). I'm from a small little town in Ireland but have
been over here for most of my life. I could talk about myself all day but I
will stop here and just say "Long live Physics Geeks!"

As the lovely nickname says, I'm still out in Geneve working on the ATLAS detector which
is one of the multi-purpose experiments on the LHC (Large Hadron Collider). My physics research is in
measuring the Top quark mass through the lepton plus jets channel with soft-lepton tagging.

Name: Joanna Goodger
Alias: Southamptonish Astronomyer
I'm an ex-president who never going to leave Psistar at this rate although all I do is update the
website and bend the society to my will :o) I'm a PhD student in Astrophysics at the University of
Hertfordshire. Specifically, I do extragalactic radio and X-ray astronomy.
