PsiStar's committee is voted in by the members at the end of every accademic year in the Annual General Meeting (AGM). It is required that there are 50% plus 1 members to non-members and contracts are signed by the President and Treasurer as these are the only committee members that are held legally responsible for their actions. The remainder of the committee are bound only by their word to do what is expected of them although if their roles are not performed satisfactorily then they may be fired during a committee meeting. A new committee member must be voted in by a general meeting of the society.

I'm in my fourth year of an MSci degree and have finally taken the role of president after being Treasurer of the Rowing Club for two years and PsiStar for one. Could waffle on for ages about myself but will keep it simple and say I'm from a village in the middle of nowhere near Daventry, I windsurf in my spare time, (what little there is) and I made the design for this site.
Role Requirements
Co-ordinate committee and their meetings
Work with the SU and deal with the subsequent bureaucracy
Contact other societies including the IoP and the Royal Society
Increase recruitment
Organise elections
Ensure the committee members are fulfilling their duties
Aid the secretary in organising trips to external talks
Aid the social secretary in organising trips during reading weeks and end of term events

When I'm not juggling finances you can find me behind the bar at Drapers, or I'll ride past/over you on my motorbike. And I can do all this whilst simultaneously bigging up the Maidstone Massive. Eventually I've been recognised :o) I'm the graduate who now resides in Southampton, working, as all students (and some graduates) do at my local supermarket.
