To join us you need first be a member of the QMUL, so that you have access to the Union facilities.
Then, armed with your student ID card you need to go to the information point. This is in the Student Union, next to the shop on the ground floor.
You show them your ID, say, "I would like to join PsiStar" and give them a fiver. This five pounds pays for refreshments at the seminars, the expenses of the guest speaker and allows us to subsidise the cost of some of the more expensive events. The Union has a set a minimum on the amount that a Students' Union Society has to charge its members to join. If you think that sucks, you should see what the sports clubs charge.
In exchange for the fiver, you will be given a very nice members card, which you need to keep on you so you can benefit from joining.

If you join during Freshers' week you get a free drink
Entrance to the Seminars is FREE for members
Entry fee to Hail Mary (Held in E1 every month) is reduced
You can access the members' area of the website, 'Phages Den', which is currently being revamped
You can benefit from the experience of your peers within the society
You get priority placement on events with a limited availablity (Eg. Cinema, JET)
And you recieve (semi) humourous e-mails every week informing you of upcoming events

If you are not a QMUL student, you may still join us but paying the £5 to our treasurer and in exchange we will give you a home-made membership card. This will not be valid for the entrance to Hail Mary, but it will entitle you to the other benefits.
