Young Physicists Conference 2006

Friday 24th November until Sunday 26th November in Birmingham.

Every year, the IoP organises a conference for young physicists where you can meet other physicists, go to talks on various areas of physics which may interest you including 'Nuclear Fusion and Decay in metals' by Professor Claus Rolfs, go to workshops on improving your CV and careers advice and get away from your university for the weekend. It also looks good on your CV that you have attended such a conference.
There is a mandatory registration cost of £50, which covers the cost of the workshops etc. Accomodation has been arranged at a nearby Express by Holiday Inn and will be shared, (single sex only). The cost of which is £55 per person for the entire weekend.

There are also two events organised, one on the friday night; a two course meal at Jongleurs Comedy Club for £16, and the second being the conference dinner on the saturday night at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre, three courses for £23.

Don't forget you need to get there, there are trains to Birmingham New Street from London Euston. It takes about two hours and costs £36.20 (£23.90 with a young persons railcard).

The total cost is about £170 including the social events, accomodation, travel and registration. You need to register by the 17th November.
